Do your research

The recent article "Training in Scientology guides rescuer, volunteer
minister" kind of makes Scientology sound like the thing to get into,
doesn't it?
Never mind the million-dollar lawsuits against ex-members who have
tried to leave the "church" or its well-documented tactics of framing
and blackmailing opponents. And, of course, who cares that the central
belief of the "religion" is that there is a 7.5 million-year-old
renegade alien named Xenu locked up in a volcano in Hawaii?
This story makes Scientology sound like the thing to get involved in -
as though it were simply a method for focusing and bettering yourself.
I strongly suggest anyone interested in joining up first research the
history of this "religion" before they sign any dotted lines.
